Pupil Leadership Team
At Whiston Willis, each year group has 2 representatives for our Pupil Leadership Team. These pupils were nominated by their peers to represent their year group. We hold regular meetings to discuss ways in which we can improve our school and raise money for charity and the school. We strongly believe in the importance of the voice of the child and, therefore, these meetings provide opportunities for the pupils to discuss their views and ideas which will then be fed back to the rest of the school
The Pupil Leadership Team play a huge part in our Rights Respecting Schools journey as they choose our article of the month and act as the drive behind this within their classes by gathering information for our newsletters and leading class discussions.
Pupil Leadership Team Update October 2019
It has been a busy few weeks as the children have settled into their new roles on the team. We were all very excited and proud to have been selected by our peers and in our first meeting had a discussion over what it means to be on the team. The children were all very enthusiastic and have lots of ideas for fundraising in the coming weeks.
Together we have begun to discuss how the importance of our Rights Respecting Class Charters and how we can pull these together for a Whole School Charter and a Playground Charter. The children came up with lots of ideas for this and how this can support our Behaviour Policy.
As a group, they decided our Articles of the Month for October should be Article 28 – The Right to Learn and Article 31 – The Right to Play. It was agreed that these articles are very important and play a significant role in our everyday life at Whiston Willis.
