The National Curriculum Purpose of Study states:
'A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect'.
Therefore, at Whiston Willis we follow the Rising Stars scheme 'Champions'. We feel that Champions is a well organised scheme that supports staff in the delivery of PE in a fun, exciting and safe way. Champions provides opportunities for children to not only develop their PE skills but to also improve their health and fitness.
We plan our P.E curriculum over a two year cycle, this year (2020-2021), we are following cycle B.
